   What, precisely, is the point of an awards ceremony when there’s no possible impartial way to judge the merits of a film?  It’s all just opinions, and only a few people even make the decision, so it’s hardly representative of the actual opinions of the people.  And even then, it’s highly doubtful that anyone has seen all the films made in a year, so it’s impossible even then to make fair nominations.

   And furthermore, why does John insist on watching it every year?
